BlockHacks is a blockchain hackathon for entrepreneurs, enthusiasts, designers and developers. The hackathon will take place over a 24-hour period and will include workshops by blockchain industry professionals. The focus is on inspiring the next generation of blockchain entrepreneurs to build decentralized applications, contribute to code at the infrastructure level and create cool new ways to introduce people to blockchains and digital currency. The judges of blockhacks are professionals in the blockchain industry who are actively looking to make blockchain investments and who can help take projects that were ideated during BlockHacks to market.
Ethan Wilding is co-founder of L4 Ventures, co-founder of Ledger Labs, and a founding team member of Ethereum. He has a doctorate of Philosophy from the University of Waterloo. Past roles have spanned high growth startups like Sonder and Frank + Oak and large technology companies like Yahoo and Scholastic. A husband and father of two, Isaac believes Montreal is the perfect place to raise a family while building a world-class startup ecosystem.
Brian Leiberman is the Director of Operations at MLG Blockchain, an enterprise blockchain and ICO consulting and development firm. Brian is a member of the Blockchain Education Network, a robust global network of blockchain enthusiasts and a Bitcoin Certified Professional.
Prior to joining MLG Blockchain, Brian served as Head of Operations and Business Development at Guiker.com. Prior to working at Guiker, Brian was the Head of Operations for Sonder.com, a Montreal based Hospitality start-up that has expanded internationally.
Brian holds a degree in Finance and International Business from the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University.
Aidan Hyman is the co-Founder and CEO at ChainSafe Systems. We are a team of developers and nerds from Toronto, ON - who met at a local Ethereum Developer Meetup. At ChainSafe our focus is working with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, from opcodes to solidity and everything in between.
Scott has been actively involved in the blockchain ecosystem since 2015, co-founding and experimenting with Ethereum projects including Venture Equity Exchange, a DAV (DAO) management ecosystem, and GitToken, an open source incentivization protocol. Scott serves on the investment committee of Astronaut Capital, a Singapore based blockchain investment firm; as an advisor to the C-Lab blockchain incubator program at York University; and as a selective consultant for several blockchain projects.
Sam is the Co-Founder and CEO of Corl, the world’s first revenue-sharing, and equity token designed to support and participate in the growth of emerging companies.Sam has close to a decade of experience in leading the creation of FinTech products and solutions in the payments and lending industry from startup to IPO.
Manu is a result oriented executive with a demonstrated history of product development & software delivery delivery across large corporations primarily in the Financial Services Industry including Morgan Stanley, HSBC, Royal Bank of Scotland PLC etc. He has an extensive blockchain industry experience as an advisor and architect for leading industry stakeholders including enterprise customers, blockchain development teams and solution providers, regulatory and industry bodies and investors.Manu currently heads the product development at Greenstream Technologies, an enterprise blockchain solution for the upcoming Cannabis industry in Canada. He is a Certified Scrum Master and holds a Masters in Technology specializing in Computer Network Engineering.
